Chess- Grades 2-5 CANCELLED Chess Club is for students looking to discover the game of chess and more experienced players aiming to sharpen their strategies. Through interactive sessions, students will not only enhance their understanding of the game but will also cultivate critical thinking, patience, and planning skills. Cost: $250.00
Dance- Grades K-5 This course introduces students to the fundamentals of dance, exploring a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. Students will learn basic techniques, choreography, and the importance of rhythm, flexibility, and expression in movement. Through guided practice and creative exploration, participants will develop their physical coordination, self-confidence, and an appreciation for dance as an art form. Digital Photography- Grades 6-8 CANCELLED Digital Photography allows students to gain skills that are essential for success in photography. Students will produce captivating photographs and refine their abilities to critique them. Throughout the course, they will share work with peers, participate in photographic critiques, and give and receive constructive feedback. Cost: $250.00
Lego Building- Grades K-3 This course encourages creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning through the versatile world of LEGO building. Students will explore engineering concepts, architectural design, and storytelling as they work on projects that range from free-form creations to guided builds. Younger students will focus on spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and imaginative play, while older students will incorporate principles of design, planning, and structural integrity into their builds. The course emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and attention to detail, fostering a fun and engaging environment where students can bring their ideas to life brick by brick. Baking- Grades K-2 This course introduces students to the art and science of baking, providing a hands-on experience in creating a variety of baked goods. Students will learn essential techniques such as measuring, mixing, kneading, and decorating while exploring the role of ingredients and how they interact. From breads and pastries to cakes and cookies, the course emphasizes creativity, precision, and presentation. Alongside practical skills, students will gain an understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and time management, preparing them for both recreational baking and potential culinary careers. Cheer- Grades 4-8 This program focuses on building teamwork, discipline, and performance skills. Students will learn basic to advanced cheer routines and prepare for school events and competitions. Cost: $250.00
Grit Ninja - Grades K-4 This dynamic 6-week ninja program is designed to build strength, agility, and confidence through a series of exciting challenges. Each week, participants will focus on mastering a new skill, with obstacles rotating regularly to keep things fresh and engaging. You'll encounter thrilling obstacles like the warped wall, grip gauntlet, cliffhanger, balance courses, and a conditioning station to improve endurance and overall fitness. As you progress, you'll develop the skills needed to tackle each obstacle with confidence and power. The curriculum is designed by professional ninja coaches, many of whom have competed on NBC's *American Ninja Warrior*. The program will culminate in an epic ninja competition, where you’ll have the chance to put all your hard-earned skills to the test in an exciting, high-energy finale! Little Scientists- Grade PreK4 Mad Science Preschool programs are engaging, hands-on learning experiences for children aged 3-5. Junior Explorers- Grades K-2 CANCELLED Join Mad Science this session and discover why science is the real star on the big screen. You’ll create cool sound effects and build your very own robot hand in a class that focuses on technology. Harness the sun’s heat and ramp up a power generation station. Get linked into a network and work with radio signals. Conduct hands-on experiments that will provide the opportunity to explore the force of gravity and even defy gravity! Robotics Coding- Grades 4-6 CANCELLED Robotics Coding allows students to engage in coding through hands-on experiences with an array of robots (Ozobots, Legos, or Spheros) starting with the user-friendly visual language of Blocky. Crayola® World of Design- Grades K-2 Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, Mars, a futuristic city, and more! We’ll create Movie posters, map out universal tree houses, develop comic book characters and much more. Spend time each week experimenting with Crayola® products and many art techniques like sculpting, collage, and mixed media. Discover different design careers and use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems. Cost: $250.00
Pokemon Trading Card Game- Grades 2-4 CANCELLED This course introduces students to the strategic and collectible card game, Pokémon Trading Card Game (Pokémon TCG). Students will learn the rules of the game, strategies for deck building, and the mathematical concepts underlying gameplay. The course also explores the history and cultural significance of Pokémon TCG. By the end of the course, students will be able to play the game proficiently and understand the complexities of card interactions and strategy. Cost: $250.00
Rye YMCA – Multi Sports- Grades PreK-1 Enjoy a different sport/ game each week. Focus on agility, coordination, sportsmanship, and teamwork games will include Soccer, field hockey, flag football, blacktop games, etc. Classes taught by Rye YMCA coaches certified in CPR, RTE, and First Aid.
