Religion is more than an isolated subject at Resurrection School. The school also encourages its students to be mindful of the needs of others by actively participating in Christian service in the community. Students experience the message of the gospel in action.
Below is a list of some of the Service Projects that our students are involved with:
Part of the Solution - POTS
POTS is an organization that provides food and a community lifeline to people in the Bronx. Our students get involved in numerous service oppotunites and drives for POTS.Midnight Run
Grade 8 students from Resurrection School volunteer twice a year to make a Midnight Run. Midnight Run is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing assistance for homeless people.
Students collect and organize donations of food and clothing, and then, accompanied by parent and faculty volunteers, they travel by van to New York City and personally distribute their donations to needy and homeless people at designated Midnight Run stations.Christmas Toy Drive
Resurrection students get involved in a TOY DRIVE for the adolescents of P.O.T.S. Donated, unwrapped gifts, are brought down to P.O.T.S. set up in a a “store” to allow parents to shop for their children’s Christmas gifts.Food Pantry Drive
Every month students in all grades collect designated food and household supplies for their less fortunate neighbors. Students collect and organize donations, which are brought once a month to the Caritas Food Pantry in Port Chester, NY. Holy Rosary Food Pantry distributes food to hundreds of local people each month. Students experience first hand the importance of sharing with those in their community who are less fortunate.
